Flight Night

The flight is on…join us on Tuesday 9th May at Trishna for an interactive ‘Flight Night’, where for one night only, Sandia will be fighting for your votes and taking on, JKS Restaurants co-founder/wine buyer Sunaina Sethi and Wine Car Boot founder and GQ’s Best Sommelier of the Year 2016, Ruth Spivey.

The evening will be a fun and collaborative affair, where you will be able to enjoy a 4-course menu of Trishna’s renowned coastal Indian cuisine, and to accompany each course, the girls will select a flight of 3 x 50ml glasses of wine, from which you will be given the power to choose your favourite. Together the trio will share their expertise on their choices, in an evening that will celebrate the wine over the dish and where only one Sommelier will triumph.

Let’s Taco ’bout it…?

For the month of May we are getting all consumed with taco fever; our next guest dog will be from Executive Chef, Nieves Barragán Mohacho from Barrafina fame.

Nieves will be bringing her native Spanish twist to bubbledogs for one month with the Taco Dog – Don’t know about you, but she had us at tacos…

Chow Chow Chinese Takeover

For one night only on Wednesday 17th May we are saying goodbye to our usual hot dog menu and giving Sandia free reign of the kitchen for her Chow Chow Chinese takeover. Turning tradition on its head, and drawing on the flavours of her heritage, Sandia will be creating a one-off feasting menu of her favourite Chinese snacks, paired with a selection of grower Champagnes and sparkling wines.

Sandia has always championed the logic that good wines, don’t have to just drink with Michelin star food and within stuffy ambiences – After all, the concept for bubbledogs, came from Sandia having takeaway pizzas with her friends in New York and drinking some amazing wines, just like an episode of Friends.

The blowout menu of Chinese plates to share at Chow Chow will include Taiwanese salt and pepper fried chicken wings, Potstickers, Scallion pancakes, Hunan green beans and a refreshing Smack Schezuan cucumber salad. Crispy pork belly with soy caramel and Cantonese pickles will bring that extra Chow factor, alongside Beef shin finger sandwiches and Taiwanese fried pork chops with Chinese pickled mustard greens.

In true bubbledogs style, the Champagne will be flowing, and Sandia will be on hand to pair her carefully curated selection of bubbles. The refreshing acidity of J-M Sélèque and JL Vergnon Eloquance have been perfectly matched to counter the savoury, richness of the Asian ingredients, and special bottles from Olivier Horiot and Marie Courtin Concordance will also be on offer.

To complete the takeover, we will also be receiving a temporary makeover for the night, complete with kitsch handmade paper lanterns and Chow Chow signage adorning the front of the restaurant.

Tickets are £45 per person, which includes the Chinese feasting menu and a glass of grower Champagne on arrival.
